The Turkistan Islamic Party or the Turkistan Islamic Movement, formerly known as the East Turkestan Islamic Movement and other names, is a Uyghur Islamic extremist organization founded in Western China. Its stated goals are to establish an independent state called East Turkestan replacing Xinjiang.
