Elaboration
Forced marriage relates to any marriage that occurs without the consent of the participants. In the context of China, specifically Xinjiang, accusations have been made that China has coerced Uighur women into marrying Han Chinese men, with the ultimate aim of the policy of the government to dilute some kind of notion of ethnic purity.
The claim, apart from being entirely unproven, relies on a racist trope of Uighur people as in some way genetically pure (as some Uighur activists have suggested). Given the history of Xinjiang as an ethnic 'melting pot', such notions are both absurd and dangerous.
